Hi, I’m Akiko.

My name Akiko means a bright girl in Japanese.
It is my mission to bring a light and smile to every project and customer .

My journey into the world of user interaction happened by chance, yet it feels like it was destined. With a deep passion for helping others and a background in psychology, I’ve always been drawn to understanding human behavior. At the same time, my love for creativity and technology led me to explore design. I consider myself incredibly fortunate to have found my calling in UX/UI, as it beautifully combines both of my greatest passions.

My design philosophy begins with the fundamental recognition that users are human beings with emotions, needs, and unique experiences. By focusing on enhancing the efficiency and empathy of human interactions, I aim to create solutions that not only streamline processes but also enrich lives, fostering greater satisfaction and happiness.

When I’m not in front of computer designing or coding, you can find me updating my 1960s home, outside in garden as I’m an aspirating gardener, or hanging out with my family and friends.

A little more about me…

I'm versatile

With over 15 years of experience in software development, I understand that meeting requirements and functionality is often the priority. However, I remain adaptable and am skilled at crafting creative solutions that not only keep projects moving forward but also ensure the end result is intuitive and user-friendly.

I like many aspects of design

I like every aspect of being UX/UI designer, from building a design system and day-to-day implementation to user interviews and research. I enjoy applying atomic design principles in design systems, building patterns with existing components and flows. I’m passionate about learning how users interact with systems and creating user personas through research.

Quality guaranteed

I have extensive experience working in highly regulated environments. Working at ISO 9001 certified companies given me a strong foundation in quality management systems, process control, and continuous improvement practices. I’m well versed in maintaining compliance with strict standards and supporting audits and corrective action processes.

One Interaction, One Component

I thrive both in building solutions from scratch and refining existing experiences. Whether it’s a blank canvas or an ongoing product, I focus on thoughtful, user-centered improvements. My motto, “improving one interaction, one component at a time,” reflects my commitment to creating intuitive and meaningful user experiences.

Strategic Simplicity

I bring extensive experience in designing enterprise software, with a focus on simplifying complex calculations and results. I excel at breaking down intricate data into manageable, meaningful segments, while providing the necessary context to ensure clarity and actionable insights.

Let's collaborate!

Building software user enjoying using isn’t just a job for designers—it’s a collaborative process that involves everyone in software development. By working together, we can create better products and make users happier.
